Steaming Rice

Ok, so I've got a 'Swan' vegetable steamer. It came with a rice bowl to steam rice. The thing is there are no instructions with it on how to steam rice. I've tried to find something on the internet but have had no luck.

So if anyone can help me out, please do!

I hope someone knows as I tried this and after 120 minutes of steaming gave up - by then my kitchen was like a sauna. I have found that if I have cooked a lot of rice and saved/frozen some then a steamer is great, but to put in grains and steam to cook them would probably strip the wallpaper from all walls in the house and steam up all the windows and the rice would still remain nutty.
You can't actually just cook it in a steamer ...

Steamed rice uses a cooking method which is sometimes referred to as 'the absorbtion method'...

sorry it's a link (my pet hate) but it was too long to post in one go ...
My vegetable steamer came with a rice bowl and the instructions tell you place rice into rice bowl (one cup of rice is usually enough for 2 people), for every cup of rice add 1/2 cup cold water, (pour it over the rice) Place the rice bowl into the largest veg steamer bowl and put the lid on. One cup of rice usually takes 30 -40 mins in my steamer, longer if it's brown rice. Make sure the water in the actual steamer reservoir doesn't boil dry. Mine comes out perfect every time. I have been doing rice in my steamer for donkeys years (in fact its about the only think I do with it).

Pretty much as Joflump says. you need water in with the actual rice, for me it's normally a little bit more water than rice, so 1 cup of rice to 1 and a bit of water.

The first time I did it I put the water in the bolier bit at the bottom and nothing happened, I was most confused :)
