After my previous posts of being accused of logging in under IT administrator log inns, Ash now has to attend a disciplinary meeting tommorow wed 20.12! After them gathering the statements etc they have enough for this to take place, even though my hubby Ash is innocent! They have evidence from IT that on sept 26th until the end of oct this year mon-fri on ash pc it was logged in as IT Administrator, so for 6/7 weeks this happened and then it stopped when IT changed there password! they failed to mention that Ash had to call IT out on several occasions prior to this and that on or around the 26th sept he was given an ex mbr of staffs base unit as his kept malfunctioning! and that coincidental the same time IT changed there password we had a office move around and Ash had yet another change in base unit! Basically they are saying for these 6/7 weeks Ash on a IP address they have logged on those dates logged in as the IT administrator and went on the internet etc to carry out his usual work!!! Out of 10years working for this reman company he has never done anything wrong well other than maybe pull a sickie or two! It just seems very strange that he had all these problems with his PC at that time and a change of base units and now he is accused of this, well accused two months down the line! it seems to have taken a while to pick up! Do IP address's change when base units get changed in work? Is there any IT boffs here wih any advise? Ash is innocent but It have these logs in black and white, is there a way this can show up as Administrator without actually being logged in? we work for a gearbox/engineering company not the CIA! we have no use to access administrator functions! Help!!!! :)

so pleased.

IT will have a lot to answer for!!!!!!

thanks all for previous help xxxx
I remember your first post about this. I'm not IT savvy, but it seems it would be an idea to keep a log / diary in the future, and if any problems arise, he could show his personal log to his boss and get him / her to sign it to the effect that the log / diary has been seen and a problem reported.
Nice Christmas present though. Good luck for the future.
I read your previous post, but didn't answer because I didn't really know what to say. I'm glad it's all worked out, though.

Ash should take Theland's advice and keep a log of future 'incidents' - just in case. IT technicians aren't above corruption, in my experience. I have all sorts of 'illiegal' software on my work machine (ie. stuff that 'they' haven't installed - media players, web browsers and so on, nothing 'bad' as such) that IT see every time they come in, but they never say a word.

It may be worth asking your question in Technology, re. IP addresses. There's also a way of getting something called an 'event log' from a PC, which a friend sometimes used to do whenever he called IT to his machine. I don't don't know how relevant that is, though. Again, maybe the technology bods could answer your question.

Thanks both, Ash has kept a diary since being re instated and looks the opposite way when IT log into his pc to do anything!

His boss has been great and fully supports this.

It was a nice christmas pressie, as it would of ruined christmas with it hanging over us, even thou he was innocent.

Cheers

Nat :)
