hard drive full?

If one can never delete anything completly on a computer, why does the hard drive never get full up after a time?

Hard drives certainly do get full up, and then they don't run well and it is impossible to defrag or do a system restore.

Eventually, an error message pops up when you try to download or save, saying there is insufficient space.
When you delete a file and empty your recycle bin the space that the file used is marked so that any new files can use that space on the disc. Eventually all the space that was used by a now deleted file will get re-used. Hope this makes sense
