flags on army vehicles

Does anyone know what the flags are for on the front of army vehicles. I saw a convoy today - the one at the back had a green flag and the one at the front had a blue flag.

They are precisely that... convoy flags.

Blue flag - lead vehicle
Green flag - last vehicle
Yellow flag - broke vehicle
Red flag - hazmat vehicle
