Being somewhat of an insomniac, during the late hours I have listened to what is now called TalkSport Radio since it first came on the air waves.
In this time I have seen many presenters come and go, some good and other not so good.
My question is, has anyone else seen a recent decline in the programmes, I have to such an extent that I have been forced to listen to the various phone-ins on BBC Radio 5.
Getting back to Talk Sport, the top lad on here used to be Mike Dicken, he would tell it like it was. But now he is a pussy cat and his topics time after time are , Parking Tickets or Speed Cameras.
Another presenter is James Whale, but he only seems to be interested in Pretty Girls in the studio, anything to do with outerspace, and promoting musicians when it isn't a music station.
And lastly comes Ian Collins with his side kick the glamorous Chessy, what is there to say about these two they just chat amongst themselves for hours.
I would be interested if anyone else is of the same opinions?

I think it has gone down hill somewhat.

I tend to listen more to the sports shows in the evening and they just seem to be a constant stream of adverts, news and travel reports with very little actual sports content. I don't ever remember it being as bad as it is now, you are lucky if you actually get more than 10 minutes of real sports information in an hour.

Presenters on Talkradio/sport have a habit of just disappearing I've noticed over the years, eg Tommy Boyd and Tom Watt .
Tommy Boyd was sacked for a comment about the royal family i think, i used to love Ian Collins and the creatures of the night, but not its not the gritty station it used to be although George Galloway does make up for some of the losses.
Talksport has become a bit of a joke and is just a money making machine through their texts and phone calls. The presenters are either imbeciles ie Mike Parry, Graham Beecroft, Patrick Kinghorn or self egotistical pratts ie Adrian Durham, John Gaunt. The only decent show is Hawksbee and Jacobs and that is on when everyone is at work!
Talking of disappearing presenters.... What has happened to Rodney Marsh on this show? In the usual Talksport fashion presenters disappear and no one on the station makes reference to them again...

Personally I couldn't stand Marsh with his Stan Butler 'On the Buses' style and his total pig ignorance (good player though), but I just want to make sure that I dont accidently come across him on another station. Can anyone help please?
Talksport started off as a clone of Radio 5. Now, have a listen to Radio 5, and have a listen to Talksport. I used to enjoy listening to Radio 5, but after listening to Talksport, I now realise how crap and politically correct Radio 5 is.

I don't think by any stretch of the imagination Talk Sport could ever be classed as once being a clone to BBC Radio 5. When it first came on the scene of British broadcasting there was nothing like it, they told it like it was. But now it seems they have somehow had their claws clipped, and yes I now agree it is more like Radio 5. Perhaps they have had a D notice slapped on them.
yes radio for racists bigots & morons,
and thats its good points,
