How can I find out all I need to know about Home Education/tuition? What organisations can help??what steps do you need to take? Who should teach the child? Who puts a programme of what to study together? and how?

Education Otherwise has a very useful website, including links to local HE groups. It provides support, encouragement and loads of information.

There is also HEA (Home Education Advisory Service)
www.heas.org.uk which has lots of info on educational resources, materials, GCSEs etc and the law on HE.
Try to find a local HE group - great for support, likely to be putting on activities including classes and so on. Good luck!
My children were HE for a period, now back in school/college and getting on very well and happily. HE did them no harm - quite the reverse!

Er, just spotted your many other posts on this subject! Thought you were a parent wanting to HE! Having read the various replies, I would say - sort things out before more time elapses. Talk to a local school, a college, the LEA (school admissions - ask for someone senior), Connexions. It probably isn't HE that you need but a structured educational programme at a school or college (depending upon your age) leading to GCSEs in at least the core subjects - maths, science, English, or a vocational, practical course that would lead more readily to work. Get on with it!

not that this has anything whatsoever to do with me, but have you considered the implications that home schooling might have on your child? Just make sure they attend a regular club or organisation where they can learn to socialise, its just as important as what they are learning, that they learn how to communicate with strangers.
