How can you tell if someone is lying?

At the moment of telling the lie, do they look to the left or to the right?

Are there other ways, like body language, to rumble them?

they cant look you straight in the eyes look everywhere else but into your eyes
Thats a lie tradey. I lie to everyone all the time, and when I lie I look them in the eyes, this way they don't think your lieing.
Touching the face is supposed to be a sign that someone is lying. I tend to mistrust anyone who says "honestly". If something's true why the need to justify it.

On the other hand my other half says she knows when I'm lying because my lips move and I thought that was just politicians
i heard that rubbing your ear lobe is a sign of (nervousness) hence lying??
There are many signs, most of which can be faked or be real - unless you are an expert, it can be hard to tell.

However, It is absolute fact that when somebody is making something up, they look slightly up and to the left (the left side of the human brain is the 'creative' side). The 'storyteller' will do this when they pause between words - as if thinking of what to say next and then regain eye contact usually.

It is not an exact science but I hope it helps!
