What should be done to the failed asylum seekers that have rioted at Harmonsworth, Britain's largest Immigration detension centre?
Should they be made to live in the conditions they have now made for themselves?
Should they now be sent back from where they have come from immediately?
And in future once they have failed in their bid to stay in this country. Should they not be sent back immediately? There would then be no need for these expensive centers, where they hang around on full board, at the taxpayers expence and the lawers get fat fighting appeal after appeal on their behalf, also at our expence.

I do wish all those yogurt knitting, sandal wearing, liberal lefties, would just read the question, without using their narrow minded tunnel vision, that they all seem to possess.
It would seem that as soon as they see the words immigrant, ethnic minority or even the word black. Then without going on to read the full content of a question they immediataly start throwing assumsions about, that one is a Nazi, member of the BNP, racist, bigot, can't get on with foreigners, and making other untrue statements such as one tars all immigrants to this country with the same brush.
But then we have all become used to these tactics by the Liberal Left-Wing, they tend to breed in colleges, teachers common rooms and Town Halls. They spend most of their time thinking up new things that they assume will offend certain minority groups, without any knowledge whatsoever that these groups are indeed being offended. It is this brigade that invented political correctness. The frightning thing is that this minority voice is allowed to air their perverted views via the media of this country. And does more harm to community relations than anything else.

Liberty, surely, is the right to disagree. In a way I'm glad that you are frightened of my opinion, because it means that you take it seriously.
I agree that there is nothing wrong with tackling the issue of immigration and I'm sorry that the discussion has gotten a bit out of hand, but I do have to point out a few things.
Firstly, I fully acknowledge that you have a right to your opinion, but when that involves statements to the effect that minority voices (and by this I'm referring to your suggestion that I am a minority voice) should not be heard. If, indeed, you are part of the majority, what is it that you find so threatening? Be careful when you suggest that teachers, people who go to colleges and Town Hall workers are 'Liberal Lefties'. Don't forget that these are educated people and by distancing yourself from them, you are implying that you are not. I would also like to point out that there are a majority of Labour and Conservative councillors in Britain, which would suggest that the views of those in Town Halls is hardly to the left of centre at the moment (not to mention the BNP, who did remarkably well recently).
You should also read further into your suggested link. Alittle bit of research would have shown you that one story does not a conclusion make. If, as the article in your link suggests, over one third of the inmates (484) were already awaiting deportation, then there is little to be concerned about - they will be deported. The article also says that some were being considered for it. Now, obviously this is a process, like anything legal it takes time. I am not for a second suggesting that foreign national criminals be released back into the community, but is a crime any worse because it is committed by a foreigner?
Read this link (which was on the same page as the one you posted) and instead of just asking WHAT happened, ask yourself WHY it did.

This report was gathered by Chief Inspector of Prisons Anne Owers, who incidently prior too taking up this post was Director of Justice, a Human Rights & Law Reform Organisation. So we can all see where she is coming from, can't we?

Now don't you find it would be in their own interests to be less than honest in their position? No chance of the Managers and Staff to voice their opinion, or is this privlieged information.

You're not basing your answers on fact ano. Where does it say that staff couldn't voice their opinions? How do you know that 60% of pensioners would say they felt unsafe?

bigmalc. I feel you brought on such a tirade at first because your answers were agressive, caustic and scarcastic. I am glad you chose to change your stance to one of factual, calm and reasonable. You have shown yourself not to be the bigot (works both ways)you portrayed in yourself to be on reading your initial response. There are alot of people who answer question on ab, with venom and anger. Their comments are generally alot more unpleasant than the question they are attempting to "answer!"

Does it surprise you even immigrants who have no real reason to be here(most of them arent graduates with chemical engineering degrees by the way!) are actually complaining about conditions in their detention centre.heck, they expected to have a nice council house and benefits by now-its well known the UK is a soft touch!in the meantime maybe big malc could put them up since he is so understanding and we're all just so nasty :-)
