Professional autopaint place will be able to do you a large size aerosol which will be enough to cover a whole panel and will give you a much better spray fan - almost as good as a spray gun.
Stick the rattle can in a larger can of warm water first, makes the paint thinner and sprays better. Also ensure your panel is spotlessly clean.

hi guys, thanks for advice.im glad to say ive finished it now, the problem is the lacquer,
i seem to have a point where the paint is not smooth, and seems to rise higher than the rest of the surface!!
i think the lacquer ran,
is there any way to sort it out as its only a small area so i dont want to start it all over again,.
can i sand it down with some fine paper and just re-lacquer it ???
or can i wait a few days then get some rubbing compound on it to take the surface back down but still get a good finish ????
If you can get the run out it should relacquer ok. Laquer is just a clear, high gloss top coat. Get the run out, wet and dry it with 1200 and relacquer ---- it should be fine. As Andy Boz says give the can a heat and if possible the surface too ( hair dryer ).

to homer 75, so i just wet n dry it with 1200 and re lacquer it and it wont make it look awful then ???
i just dont want to balls it up.
Heres a wee tip for your wet and dry problem mate. Always use a warm bucket of water with a small drop of washing up liquid mixed in. The reason you use washing up liquid is when your using wet and dry it tends to clog up. The washing up liquid stops it from doing this. When your spraying make sure you are away from any wind as this will cause fisheye on your paint. Depending on the age of your car as you might not get a good match. Red is the worst colour you can try to match. Hope this helps out.
