In case its not been described:- I put this in mycats Q further down, but TAGS are the name given to the way to make the text appear bold, italic or underlined. FAQs give 3 choices: Typing < B > before a word then < /B > after makes the text bold. (Take out the extra spaces between the < and the 'B' by the way. or it won't work. I put them in to get the thing to show on screen otherwise it would just bold, or underline etc) To make italics, type < I > and then < /I > To underline type < U > and to finish < /U > Whatever text is between the start and stop instruction - ie the tags - will be the bold, italic or underlined The extra symbols don't show on the text as it appears on the screen on the answer. Preview shows you have done this correctly, and the FAQ section for AB says only these 3 options work - no colours . . . and no other fonts. Pedantic but may help.

Hi neti - go to home page, go to FAQ section, go to 'How to format an answer' and the code and instructions are there to make a web iste address one word such as 'here'

And to bold, italic and underline, use < B > immediately followed by < I > and then < U > preceding the word to bold italic and underline, then use the end commands < /B then < /I > and then < /U without the spaces between the < and the letter, or it won't work, and make sure all the < B > etc are straight after each other without gaps.

This lets you make a combination of what you want the word or sentence to look like. Preview the reply to make sure the look is right as well.

Hope that helps!
Nickmo....could you come round to my house and guide me through this .....please bring food and a large bottle of malt.

Neti..I have given up completely .... carry on regardless old bean... I can't do much about it as I haven't got all these fancy things anyway !!
Was just practising on Ed's q in suggs when all I could get was smileys and whatever I wrote they came out!!
You have sussed it !! Great.....I am still plodding along wiz zee dotz and zee dashes. All good fun !
Don't give up, shaneystar! All you need to remember is:

< B > is for Bold
< I > is for Italics
< U > is for Underlining

...and for the closing tags don't forget the "/" comes before the letter, and don't put spaces in your tags.

That's it - it doesn't matter which order you put the tags in if you want all three effects and it doesn't matter whether you use upper or lower case letters.

It is a bit of a rigmarole though, no? :-)
