My girlfriend has just kindly bought me a Philips electric rechargeable razor (my first electric). Unfortunately this comes with a power lead with a transformer and a two-pin plug. What do I have to do to run this off normal mains? Do I have to get an adaptor?

You can plug it straight into a shaver socket if you have one in your bathroom,or you need an adaptor. It will look like a plug except it will have two holes in it.

Hope this helps
B & Q stock adaptor plugs : )
In fact just about every shop that sells electrical goods sells shaver adaptors!
Looks like this
And just to anticipate your next question, here's the answer: "You can't!" (get a smooth shave using a Philips electric rechargeable razor).

;-)
Grow a beard. Easier & cheaper. No worries when abroad on how to plug electric ones in. When roughing it no bother about shaving in cold water.
