A while ago someone asked whether we thought animals have a sense of humour and loads of us think they do. Just to confirm it, there is a gorgeous kitten living around here who comes to investigate whenever we are in the garden. Today my husband was trimming the privet hedge and the kitten got into the base of the hedge, climbed up through it and shot out of the top so that he was face to face with hubby, who let out a screech of shock and dropped the shears. Kitten just sat on the top of the hedge, waving about in the breeze with a stupid grin on his face.

cats don't have a sense of humour, they are just evil entities who spend all their waking hours thinking of ways of tormenting humans and dogs.

My late cat was old when he arrived in our house so I didn't really see the young and mischievous side of him. This little kitten has its whole life in front of it. Good job your husband was using shears and not those electric things.

I hope that he continues to visit you, it sounds like a fun cat.
Awwww bless.....fun ain't they....lol

My cat will quite happily sit indoors or lounge on the garden chairs all day. but when he hears next doors jack russell in their garden he skulks over to the fence and sits there teasing the dog, pawing at the fence, going as close as possible, etc etc. Then when the dog is pulled indoors for barking too much Diego slinks back over to his place on the chair with a "What? I didn't do anything!" face. He used to do this to the door at our old home too. Cheeky little bleeder.
My old cat (sadly passed away a few years ago) had this awesome party piece of laying across the headrest of the sofa and waiting for my poor unsuspecting dog to walk past then he'd drop like bullet onto the poor terrified mutt's back.
this isn't about a cat's sense of humour, but it is funny.

I went to visit my pal one night, she had moved into a new house without a cat flap. She lived with Domino (cat) and Sandy (dog).

Both the animals were out in the hall and we were sitting chatting and giggling etc. Sandy came into the room and let out a little woof. "Domino wants out" says my pal. I had to go through to the hall to verify the situation.

Seemed that when the cat went out he would sit at the door and send the dog for my friend so that she would open the door. When he wanted in he ensured the dog heard him and so his 'human' would go and let him in.

The cat is still alive and is now about 16, Sandy died a few years ago. I thought it very sweet.

wolf63 that is so cute! Animals are much nicer than people I think.
One of my cats loves to play with loo roll.....she (im sure) thinks its hysterical to do an impression of the andrex puppy, and unravel the whole roll all over the place.
She then places herself in a prominent position with a piece artfully draped around her, and looks at you with a big frown, as though she has no idea how all this chaos happened.
She also hunts, and brings me leaves, crisp wrappers, and the occasional bit of god knows what, that the binmen drop.
I wouldnt mind if she was still a kitten, but shes 10 now, and still doing it!
I would like too say the other cat is an angel in comparison, but dont even get me started on her...................
My cat will spend all day on top of the neighbours garage peering over the edge at their alsation. When the dog notices her it has a mental 5 mins barking and trying to get loose to get at her. She'll then pull back from the edge and hide until it calms down - then sticks her head out again.
She'll amuse herself for hours this way - needless to say whenever the dog gets loose it's usually in our back garden looking for her!
I love your stories (and miss my old cat too, BOO; she lived to be seventeen.) wolf63, your story will live in memory!

Although being playful and having a sense of humour aren't necessarily the same thing, I just have to show you this fox on trampoline.
OOOOOOOOO I so miss My cat tyson, he was 12 when he was PTS, but beblieve me he was the boss, Cats are remarkable creatrues and I wish to god I had got another cat instead of a dog
