I have some sort of animal/s that are fouling my garden every night. Looks like raw mince texture and is dark, and is getting worse every night. Does anybody what it is and how I can stop it happening. I have dogs so it needs to be a pet friendly solution please

What kinda size is the poop?... Hedghogs?...
Question Author
Hi, quite small in size, small handful??? I thought hedgehogs and have cleared bird food from garden but it got worse literally overnight and seems to be everywhere, if it is hedgehogs does anyone know what I can do????
If it's hedgehogs, the problem will soon stop because they'll soon be going into hiberation for the winter. It could be foxes, in which case there is probably little you can do as they're searching for food. I'm told that human urine is a deterrent - whether you fancy piddling into a bottle and then distributing it around your garden is another queson.

Could be dog or cat vomit
Question Author
Hi thanks for all your help. Definitely not vomit though. Hopefully it is hedgehogs then and they'll soon be gone but if anyone has any tips on how to deter them I'd be grateful for next year. Just taken dogs out and noticed that whatever it is, it's everywhere, so don't be quite so alone now....!?!?!
I agree with Wendy, sounds like fox's are leaving it. It is usually darker in the autumn due to the amount of blackberries and sloe's they eat.

Right..............my neighbour has had a look and reckons it's worms!!!! Which is why I have lovely soil???? I cannot believe they would cause such disruption, and to be honest would rather have crap grass than all this mess!! Confused...............you bet I am............I await your suggestions
PS. I don't think its worms too much mess for something so small
Does it look like this?

You'd be surprised how many worm casts you can get in one garden.

Gardeners buy them to feed the earth, so you are lucky.
Not really a tea-time topic but does it appear to be seedy ?
My friend said she had a lot of worm castings this morning. I have asked her for a description and they sound the same.

ETHEL --- YOU ARE A STAR!!!
That is what they are, thank you ever so much.
Still gonna do my flipping head in, but at least I know what they are.
Thanks all...............and if anyone wants any 'worm casts' I'm your girl!!!
And now you know it should be over soon - until next year anyway. :)
For the record, hedgehog poo is black and tarry-looking...
