I've been on Roaccutane twice-the first time for not long enough, so the spots came back within a few months of finishing the prescription, and now, a year after ive finished the second prescription they have started to come back AGAIN!!I thought Roaccutance was the "final solution" so to speak! These spots are all around my mouth and are really sore!! Im in my mid-twenties so is it fair to say that I will never be rid of the ******* if they've lasted this long?

i really dont know what your "spots" are but i wouldn't lose hope in them going away, depending on what they are. Maybe it's just a relaspe. I think you just need to go back to your doctor and tell him/her that their solution didn't work and you need some help. just because they have lasted so long in your eyes it is still possible to get rid of them again depending on what kind of "spots" there are. i'm sure there is some kind of treatment that does work maybe, if you haven't already, you should do some research online about what other treatments are out there. good luck and don't get down over spots

Why oh why has your doctor not referred you to a skin specialist? You really need to insist on this next time you go to your GP. Do the spots appear worse after eating certain foods? Things like dairy and sugar are really not good for your skin (I'm a fellow sufferer too), and you need to be drinking loads of water too, continuously. Zinc supplements are supposed to help, as is obviously cleaning you face as often as possible.

Not sure if you're male/female but this could be hormonal, in which case needs to be treated - you might have too much testosterone (even if you're female).

Go back to your GP and demand to see a skin specialist. Roaccutane is not the safest drug, and doesn't get to the bottom of what's causing this.

Please be careful taking this drug, my bf and his brother did in their teens, both suffered serious food intolerances and depression later in life which their GPs have said could be attributable to the drug...it does have a history of adverse affects, see a skin and/or diet specialist and work on the spots from the inside....please, x
