Does anyone know how I turn off Excel automatically putting a colour in a cell?

I have coloured several rows above, and even though I have highlighted the cells and formatted them for no colour, Excel is still copying the colour from the rows above. Help! It's driving me nuts.

It sounds as though you might have some conditional formatting, which will override the actual cell's colour.

Highlight your cells and select Format > Conditional Formatting. You can then just click the Delete button to remove this.

Thanks Aquariel - I've done that - Excel is still copying the colour of the previous rows. It does the same thing if I clear the cell colour of the rows above but then change the font colour or make the rows' text bold. something weird is happening :>(
