a while ago some one posted a question about keeping cats from messing on her chippings, well, one person ranted on about how it was the cat owners fault,i answerd they was well out of order, and they the insinuated that i and someone else were disgracing other cat owners.just for the record cats will do just as they please you can train them to use alitter tray, and they will but they can travel as far as three miles a night,do they come home when they want to go,i think not,and the other point is that dog owners are not all responsable either you can find dog crap all over the place.some dog owners do pick up after ther dogs some dont, some dogs wander some dont some are allowed to some are'nt point is dont get all bent out of shape blaming the owners just answer the question.a lot of people on here give realy good sound advice thats what its all about.come on guys keep it light hearted we have enough stress of our own with out getting more from someone else.smile be happy help if you can enjoy life dudes.

Personally I could not have a cat and let it out to roam around with the possibility of it being knocked down and killed .
I wasn't very happy the other day to find my shoe full of cats poop after I had been gardening and didn't realise and nearly tramped it through my house ..yuk ..it stinks.Neither am I happy when my great nephew who comes to help me in the garden gets cat poop on his hands. Nor am I happy when the wretched things kill the birds that come into my garden.I am a dog owner and a responsible one .My dog poops in his own patch in the garden .It is picked up and disposed of.On the odd occasion he gets took short when we are out I have my poop bags at the ready.Anyone who lets their dog roam the streets willy nilly doesn't deserve to have a dog .
I'm afraid Cats V Dogs will always be a bone of contention !
But it doesn't have to be a bone of contention. Those of us that have pets, whether they be cats, dogs, budgies, rabbits, snakes - whatever, care for them in return for their company and love. We should all be responsible but some just aren't.

Can't we all agree to disagree and get on with life, with our furry friends : )

p.s. mangetout: sorry to have been a part of that awful thread. I 'bit' and then couldn't back down. sorry if it caused you any stress : )
It was probably me that you are aiming at. What on earth are you moaning at? If you think it is ok for your cat to roam and foul other people's property, destroy newly planted seedlings, destroy a gardener's seedbeds, not to mention the stench and health hazard mentioned by shaneystar2 in this thread, then yes, you are an irresponsible cat owner.
Many responsible cat owners train their cat to use a litterbox or a part of their garden that is dug over and refreshed frequently. Others go even further, usually the ones with more than one cat, and put wirenetting on top of their fence to stop their cats from roaming and indeed to protect their cats from being hurt by dogs or cars. Most owners of show cats keep their prized felines in aviary-type enclosures.
Yes, there are many dog owners who are irresponsible too, but that was not what the thread was about.

makesmesmile sorry i forgot about you,no dont worry,i was'nt stressed with either you or wildwood just dont understand why people have to get so bent out of shape about things on here.i for one think this forum is bloody fantastic i can spend ages on any one of these topics,i've even learnt things as well .laughed at loads of stuff to ,thats what its all about not ranting and accusing others nasitly,so dont worry do as your name say's smile you to wildwood.(go back a few weeks and read the one about sheep poor woman)

You are obviously a bit confused. Why are you blabbing on about an Isdys question? It was at the question from spurslady where you felt it necesarry to denigrate my reply to spurslady. If you don't want a reaction from other answerers then mind your own damn business and just give your opinion to the question, don't besmirch other answers as if you are the know-all end-all.
It is a pity that you also need to resort to immature name calling to try and verify your aimless drivel. Answerbank is certainly going downhill.
I really don't care wether you have a cat or not. Seeing that training a cat to use a litter tray is apparantly beyond you, it is probably a good thing that you don't have a cat, at least for your neighbours.
As long as you keep grinding on about this, I shall keep replying, either here or in other threads.
wildwood - take the hint and shut the f*ck up!

Well, I don't need to go on as you are both showing your true colours now. An inane and pointless array of juvenile abuse, and you accuse me of ranting?
blah, blah, blah...
