Hole in the floor possibly but more likely a door seal may need replacing.
Not sure where the plumbing is, but it could be a leak from the heater perhaps.
Possibly the air condioning. Water condences on the cool element and is supposed to drain away out of the car. this could be blocked and therefore drainiung through the vent into the foot well
Check the cable grommets into the engine and air intake compartments.
I experienced the same problem. The fault occurred whilst having a cracked windscreen replaced - and the windscreen sill was either damaged during fitting or refitted/sealed incorrectly. Water would drip from the underside of the glove box and would fill the footwell if heavy rain occured.
Are you sure its not your passengers that are leaking? Just a thought! B-> DJXL
I bought 2002 focus last friday , heavy downpour today same problem passenger footwell flooded. I have done some research and it appears that the scuttle panel above the pollen filter causes a leak. To check this lift wipers out of way look down screen towards bonet, if there is a gap between the plastic panel and the screen you will need to remove the panel and inspect the clips underneath. These can get broken during a rushed service. If this is the case a new scuttle panel is required , it is because this panel is directly above the pollen filter that filters the cabin air. Strip of Butyl along the back of the scuttle panel and refit the clips. This is from a reliable source who works at ford service centre. Hope this helps.

My Ford Focus has a water leak:

Had a couple of days of heavy rain recently. Noticed that the carpet in the passenger footwell was getting soaked and that it was caused by an occasional drip from under the glove box.  The seal around the bottom of the front windscreen does look to be poorly fitting and I know that the windscreen was replaced sometime before I bought the car.  This sounds very similar to Bryn's description. Thanks for the helpful comments.

I have the same problem with my Ford Fiesta - its a poor design and Ford seem to employ idiots at its dealersips, put the two together and you get a leak!

I too thought it was the AC condenser drain that was blocked but it was the scuttle panel which had been refitted incorrectly after its first service! It SMELLS!!!!
