In the words of Sergeant Dixon, "Evening all"!

A middling start with me this week, with FOUR out of seven in the main quiz:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-62590357

I only managed a basic 'pass mark' in the junior quiz though. Just TWO out of five:

I reckon that my score of THREE out of ten in the Timed Teaser only just about qualifies as a 'pass mark' too!

So it should be really, really easy for you all to beat me this week, I think. Will you though, I wonder?

Good thinking, Tony!

Good evening, Karamia. Well done on those very impressive scores - including perfection as a kid!

Yes, thank you, we had a lovely time last Sunday, with lunch in a lovely village pub, followed by enjoying the breeze on the beach at Shingle Street and then coffee and cakes at a very upmarket café in Woodbridge. We've been out again today and, although we never got to where we were meant to be going (Felixstowe, due to the A14 being closed), we still had a very pleasant time in a country park.

Hi, Sam.

I'm in fine fettle, thanks, as I hope that you are too.

Thanks for allowing me to sneak one point ahead of you this week ;-)
Main = 3
Junior = 0
Timed = 3 (all guesses)

303 - perhaps I should be fired :-)

Thanks for helping to lift my depression, Canary42 ;-)
I only ever do the first one and despite being on holiday and less media-aware this week I’ve actually got my first 7/7!
The only one I dithered over was Ian Curtis, but it was educated/reasoned.

BRILLIANT, Fatticus! Well done!

(You really ought to try the others though)

I will tomorrow, last night of the hols and I’ve got a good local Merlot on the table!
A smorgasbord of scores this week;

6/7, 1/5 and 6/10
Wa-hey - an impressive 6 for me this week. Must have been an easy one :)

That ought to help with the timed one, Fatticus ;-)

I keep checking this thread until at least midnight on Sunday, so I'll be looking for your scores :-)

>>> A smorgasbord of scores this week

Yup. It's definitely an open sandwich, Ken. If it was a proper British sandwich, the best bit would be in the middle ;-)
[Well done on a couple of decent scores anyway!}
Question Author
Well done, GG! You must have had plenty of time to read the news this week ;-)
Oh dear worse than ever! 3/7, 0/5, 2/10.
I couldn't really get the cave man one wrong. He lives just up the road. I actually went in his house about 10 years ago. My twin granddaughters went to a birthday party there and I picked them up. There was a heck of a lot to see just outside. When he opened the door to me I said something like what a spread you have here. He offered to give a tour of the place. It's beyond belief absolutely immense and seems to go on forever with all his different rooms.
Question Author
Well you managed to get only one zero score, together with a 'pass mark' of 3/7, so it's not a total disaster, anyway!

I suspect that some people probably liken me to a cave man - but it's got nothing to do with planning laws ;-)
I got 4/7 on the main quiz and 4/5 on the kiddie's quiz.

Have a good weekend.
Question Author
Decent scores, Susan, especially that near-perfect junior one!

I hope that you'll have a lovely weekend too.
My brother is driving up from Nottingham on Sunday and staying for a couple of days. I have tried decluttering the flat but it is actually worse now than it was yesterday. I haven't seen him for three years.

When he gets here he will be given a list of tasks that need to be done.
Question Author
I've been trying to declutter my house for about a month now and it's just about becoming noticeable ;-)
I have boxes of postcards and there are two giant boxes heading my way also filled with postcards. I have a corner of the living room full of stuff to dump and another corner has the stuff to give to charity.

The kitchen and bathroom need a really good tidy up and clean. I should be grateful that he is making the trip to do my minor home repairs. But it is going to be a war zone during his stay.
Snap! - 4 and 2 for me also!
