The absentee tena ntI really object to
is the one in Downng St
where is he for chrissakes?

He's not slumbering. He's been on holiday in Majorca. However, his break doesn't seem to have generated the negative interest that Boris's did. I can only think no one noticed him missing.

Slightly tangential, but how can a ‘cap’ be exceeded?
Just Woken Up ?

Starmer has been at the forefront of calling for action on the cost of living crisis. He mooted a windfall tax long before the Government stole the idea (as they will inevitably steal this idea).

Truss and Sunak haven’t exactly been full of plans to help and our prime minister rarely comes out of his bunker.

Maybe Starmer paid for his as opposed to weaselling it out of a party donor (again), something he has a propensity for?

You have no idea whether or not he paid for his holiday - not that it's any of your business. Nevertheless you'll try to make something of it. All you need to know is - and I quote - ‘No taxpayers’ money was used for this.’
Ah yes of course, I forgot you become his unofficial spokesperson and champion on weekends when Dorries is unavailable! Lol.

I don’t deny taxpayers money wasn’t used, just another anonymous donor chasing a peerage no doubt.
It’s yet another mark(or rather stain) of the person he is.
// The couple have previously enjoyed freebie trips to lavish villas in Spain and the Caribbean island of Mustique during their time in Downing Street. //

When you have a deserved reputation for being a cheapskate, then the speculation is inevitable.
….forgot to add that of course the Downing St press office would neither confirm or deny if he paid for his own holidays, they lied aplenty over Pincher so obviously they’ll be evasive over such issues.
FatticusInch, // I forgot you become his unofficial spokesperson //

You didn't forget because it never happened. The information I posted came from your link.
if the prime minister did not pay for his holiday himself then that is everyone's business even if no taxpayer money was used.
it will stop being anyone else's business if it happens after he stops holding political office... and not before.
//if the prime minister did not pay for his holiday himself then that is everyone's business even if no taxpayer money was used. //

It's no one's business but his own.
it's all of our business while he is holding poltical office... you might be ok with leaving avenues for corruption wide open but the rest of us are not.
and yes it extends to the opposition too... though i don't yet know of any allegations that starmer's holiday was paid for by a donor.
'Avenues for corruption'. What utter tosh! For anyone wishing to take that route holidays aren't a necessity. The man can't breathe the right way for you.
Good God, leave the pair of them alone.

They are both entitled to a holiday, and its not as if either are being exactly extravadent.
They can't leave them alone, ymb. It's not in their nature.
Just a reminder, this thread is about Starmer - or it's supposed to be. That didn't last long, did it. No surprise there!
