How sad.
far better to do all this in private

Very sad indeed - RIP, Archie.
His mother is still berating the hospital. Very undignified.
RIP Archie.
His death is a tragedy, the rest is a different matter.
Totally agree with PP and Sharon etc. Tragedy for Archie but it turned out a bit of a 3 ring circus.
I am not going to criticise his mother, I have no idea how I would behave in similar circumstances.
Has it been revealed on HOW he suffered his catastrophic injury? Some challenge or other via social media has been mentioned so, if true, these stupid stunts should be curtailed.
Desperately sad, and condolences to his family. I also think the medical team who have provided 24 hour care since April need some consideration.
It was never going to end well for everyone concerned.
Blubster, he was found unconscious with a ligature around his neck.
I agree with SharonA. The Mother should let it rest and mourn her son so she can move on.
His poor mum. I can’t even imagine the pain she’s going through. Many a bitter tear will be shed for Archie today but none more heartbroken than those of the loving mother who hoped beyond hope for her baby.

I disagree that it would have been better to keep it private. His mum was unaware that these terrible challenges exist on the internet as I imagine were a lot of people, including me. If anything good at all can come from this appalling tragedy let it be an acute awareness that these ‘games’ exist and pressure applied - by law - on those who run the websites to stop it in its tracks right now.

RIP Archie. Poor, poor little boy. X

Very sad, if the mother publicising the details help to save one more life then she's not to be berated
Time for the Battersbee family to go away now and grieve in private and stop talking to the press. I feel heart sorry for the drs. and medics who did everything they could for this child and are being made out to be nothing short of unfeeling monsters for letting him go !!

I agree with Barry. I can’t criticise Archie’s mother either. None of us know how we would feel or how we would deal with it - and I sincerely hope none of us ever have to find out.
Rest in peace, Archie.

burlyshirley, I do so agree. The poor staff in the hospital have been berated and besmirched. I know his mother spoke in desperation and was distraught beyond most people's comprehension but I hope we are spared any further vitriolic statements aimed at the hospital.
I agree with Shirley too.
Too ill to be moved? Didn't quite work that one out. But not a time for debate. Echo others' sentiments.
Plenty of answers about that on your other post paigntonian
