Yes, just phrase it politely. However it may not be possible to give you an answer if it’s a very large company as they could be interviewing hundreds of people.

Yes. It is perfectly acceptable to ask.
It might be more diplomatic if you were to say, "Can I expect a decision from you?" Don't ask for a decision within a specific period, just a hopeful-sounding query should be enough.
"Do you have any idea of when I might hear whether or not I've got the job?"
I'd say it's an essential question to ask.

I think I would say not.

Most decent interviewers will give you some idea when wrapping up the interview (I alway did).
If they haven't told you it's essential to ask.

If they have told you it's stupid to ask, because you've just asked them something they've already told you.
