During Tony Blair's time in office the English rugby team won a major competition. During the reception in Downing Street it was clear that many of the players still hadn't sobered-up after their celebrations the night before.
Could that be why The Lionesses haven't been given a reception? Once bitten, twice shy.

Blair probably did it for his own political reasons, to try to grab some of the glory for himself.
There is currently no one in position to want such attention.
