I have recently had to replace three good original tyres on my 5yr old Hyundai i10 which have been chewed through by foxes. True !
My question is, is it necesary to replace the tyre valves with special valves for the system to work or will standard valves do the job ?

Cheers.

the sensor is fitted to the valve inside the tyre so when they change the valves they should refit them.

The pressure is monitored by sensors in the wheel rims. Nothing to do with the tyre valves.

no
As TTT says, no you cant use "standard" ones but your current ones should be ok. Ask them to check.
