emmie is a mod and was on this morning, so not quite true about the sabattical.....I thought there was quite a catholic selection of mods to being with.
TCL the oldest thread is fifteen years old, and still active.
I still think some have not grasped what is being explained here. If a Mod is on and actually sees spam etc they can zap it there and then day or night. If a user reports via the report button though then Mods don't see that, it goes to the Eds and will only be read or acted on in working hours Mon-Fri.

My god , I think I've caused a bit of an argument here
I think I'll stop reporting spam now. There doesn't seem much point.

We need Waterboatman back with his big 'ammer. He zapped a lot of the early morning flood of spam.
It's not a big deal anyway.

Have the spam posts been deleted yet, by the way?

What thread is that ?
Bazile - I think Hopkirk is referring to the "last person to answer.....WINS!" thread:
https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/ChatterBank/Question489068-798.html#answer-13310989
However, that thread does not feature in the home page "Recently Answered" because threads in ChatterBank never appear there. The oldest I can see at the moment in "Recently Answered" is the "Unfortunate language on school trip.." one on page 9, originally posted 2008 in the Gaming category:
https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/?cftype=recently_answered&page=9
"We need Waterboatman back"

Back? From the dead?
Yeah, that's about of a problem.
All very tiresome. Is it not possible to block people?
Another weird one - a new member who adds to a thread from 2010, but it doesn't seem to be an attempt to spam:
