Had my renewed pet insurance come through couple of days ago, for my 13 year old cat.
£70. 59! It's jumped astronomically last few years.
Apparently, when they turn 8 years old, they add on 20•/• because of old age illnesses.
Quite a shock..

I know Dave!
I wouldn't get anymore pets. In fact my daughter bought me my cat when he was 9 weeks old. It helped me focus on new energy after losing my lovely Mum.
We have an uninsured Cockatiel named Spike he is thirty years old. We refrain from any other pets solely because of the veterinarian/insurance scams. Thank the USA for this import.

Understandable David.
Love the name Spike..:-)
Pet insurance companies and vets working hand-in-hand to gouge pet owners from where I sit.
I have never insured our cats, and looking back it was the right decision.

I wouldn't put a cat I loved through extensive treatment, and not because of the cost.

Good for you, Hopkirk..
Cancel the insurance and open a 'cat emergency ' savings account.
Pay in £80 for a year, and it will have nearly a thousand pounds in it.
Problem sorted (unless the little beggar is taken ill very soon)

Good thinking Hopkirk.
