RIP Mamyalynne

It is with the utmost sadness & regret that I'm posting that Mamyalynne passed away this evening just before 6:00.

She went peacefully, with myself, her daughter, son-in-law & grandson present.

She was the best, kindest, wisest, funniest, most wonderful person I've ever had the privilege of knowing & she brought light into my life every single day - she was my world & I'll miss her profoundly, as I know AB & all her friends here will.

I didn't know her as I'm not a regular these days but she was always so witty and warm towards me and to everyone it seems, a lovely lady and I can only pass on my sympathy to her friends and family. :(

Thank you all for the continued show of love, it really does mean a lot to me and mum's family/friends. Sadly, a family member has covid so whilst mum's funeral would have been today it's been moved to next week.

Except that I hardly ever venture outside the safe pastures of Crosswords & Q & P, I can’t think how I haven’t seen this very sad news until now. My heart goes out to Lynne’s family and L-i-K at this time. She was clearly a lovely lady as well as being an amazing crossword solver. I was frequently in awe of the extent of her knowledge & expertise especially with the TLS & shall miss her.

Mum was laid to rest today. The celebrant mentioned this site and how well loved, respected and admired she was and her special loving friendship with LiK that was formed here.

The service, interment and wake were all wonderful and many memories were shared. We raised £100 for mum's chosen charity as well which is wonderful.

Thank you all again for your kind words and the love and friendship you brought to mum's life.

I echo Hazel's words & will add special thanks for everyone being understanding when her hubby had to bring me home early as I was feeling quite unwell, not having slept properly for 24 hours. Have managed some kip, but more awaits.
