Thank you very much Peter...only 7.99. As you say much cheaper.
However, I would prefer the hardback edition and will wait until it becomes available again.
( Another reason is that I don't want to put my card details on my phone. I'm a bit old fashioned in that way. I don't trust it.)
Hi Tilly (if I may?), I don't know if you know, but if you type the clue you're stuck on into Google, it will show up the clue you've typed, almost before you've finished...it's a site called Dan...don't know how it's done or knows how, but it works...with the Daily Mail cryptic c/word at least...hope this helps!
There are a number of sites which give answers to specific crossword clues - danword is just one of them. Not all crosswords are covered though. I've never found answers to the Sunday Express Skeleton except on here.
You say you don't want to put your card details in using your phone. You can buy Google Play credits in supermarkets and just input the code on the card
Yes, Gill, I do. I've had mine since 2009, an excellent resource.
It's only since I've been trying The Spectator crossword that I thought I needed to get something a bit more up to date.
Thank you, Woodelf and Dave. I try to avoid using Dan etc, as I would probably end up looking up all the clues instead of soldiering on myself.
I actually only bother with The Guardian, Everyman, and now, The Spectator.
I'm on my 11th edition. They do update them well.
Anne, as you probably know, is dead but her daughter is continuing with it. New one out this year according to Amazon.
Gill (if I may?), I am saddened to read that Anne Bradford has passed away, she had a lovely voice and I waited eagerly for the Puzzle Panel on Radio 4 just to listen to her and didn't care less about the rest of it. I regularly use her crossword solver, though I must admit that the edition I use only cost me 1p...I must redress the situation and buy a new copy in honour of a beautiful voice! - oh dear, what a sorrowful month!
