With the price of gas going up, I'm surprised there hasn't been more explosions!

I’m sure that would be standard practice these days following a house explosion until all other possibilities are discounted.

When the headline came up on my news feed I admit I immediately remembered the Birmingham pub bombings in 1974. I pray that none lost their life. A dreadful thing to happen and so frightening for the people living in the locality.

Bomb making houses have exploded before, bobbin. Bet the authorities didn't dismiss it out of hand.
Can you still reverse the pipes on a meter? Mate of mine did it years ago. He had a gas leak.

Spicerack, you certainly can swap pipes or turn the meter round in the old style meters but not smart meters. Last year somebody died in a house explosion because the meter had been tampered with.

My mate switched it back and called the gas board out.
Straight away, their engineer knew the meter had been tampered with.
There was a washer missing. Nothing came of it.

Yes it was and this is simply old pipe that should have been replaced. The neighbours had theirs done this one wasnt.

Gas leaks have always caused a few problems. Its gas for gawds sake.

The experts know it was a gas explosion but the investigators said the cause is not yet known and will 'likely take some time'.

Dreadful scenes in the press. Thank heavens for those brave souls who brought out the chap who was so badly injured. Hope he pulls through, one loss of life is one too many.
