Two things I don't understand in regards to the overturning of Roe v Wade.
1. Is it not the case that women choosing to have an abortion can/could do so by taking pills available via the Internet?
2.Can criminalising those who carry out abortions, doctors etc, be anything but pointless when a need for abortions will inevitably be fulfilled by back streets practitioners causing more deaths and adverse health outcomes?

Well pardon me but the idea that the majority of women use abortion as a means of contraception is beyond ridiculous. Abortion isn’t nice. Best way to combat is not to try to ban it. It won’t work

Anti-abortion advocates demonstrate that not all babies develop much (intellectually) beyond the fetal stage.
it's now suggested the supreme court could act against gay marriage and even contraception.

Abortions can be carried out by taking prescribed pills up to 24 weeks. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/abortion/what-happens/

No they don’t. It’s much easier and more pleasant to take a pill, use a condom, cap or coil. Which the vaster majority of us do. You might find the odd dumbwit who can’t be bothered and then finds she needs an abortion.
Most of us are sensible, but accidents happen. There can’t be much worse in life than being an unwanted child.
Pray to end . . . unwanted pregnancies.
So many men with so many opinions - but not one - not a single one of them - whatever their life experiences -
- will ever know the fear, the dread, the utter hopelessness, the loneliness, and the misery, of a pregnancy in the very worst of circumstances. The problem isn’t theirs.
Naomi...you just gave the most concise explanation of why this is so, so wrong.
Yes, pasta and Naomi.
WTAW?
Do these men not have eyes and brains? Daughters, sisters, wives?
The worst of it though is that many women agree.
No one is forced to have an abortion...no one should be forced to have a child.
Just allow the right to choose.
Yes, well said Naomi!
Adoption is a viable alternative to abortion and accomplishes the same result. And with 1.5 million American families wanting to adopt a child, there is no such thing as an unwanted child.
they cant ban guns but abortion is, imagine all the teens and hormones fumble in the dark, parents are just getting by, no health insurance or very little, or abused wives beaten by husband or boyfriend raped, and incest etc etc, and these pro lifers say just have it, without a thought of the mother carrying it for 9 months and the mental torment, add in suicides backstreet abortions, to me america is becoming like some south american countries ie dictatorships, land of the free ermm as long as you do as your told, the few own your body..
Hazi...have you any idea of the cost to have a baby in the US? Who picks up that tab if the mother is single, poor, and most likely doesn't have health insurance?
Then there's the cost of adoption...certaimly not for those in low income.
It's a bit optimistic to believe there's someone willing to adopt every baby thats not aborted. Can every black or non white baby be found a family? I've no idea what kind of adoption criteria is used in the States, but agencies may be unwilling to adopt infants into families with different racial or cultural backgrounds.
Turning your new born baby over to the care of a stranger is hardly an end to the nightmare of being forced to give birth.
Fender62s post is a great one and describes America exactly. And their human rights are going backwards.
Hazi 00.32 sat, //adoption is a viable alternative//

Rarely have I seen such an ill-considered statement.
Your disapproval is noted, Naomi.
Consider it encouragement to actually think about what you’re saying, hazi. Consider how a girl with no means of support can possibly allow a pregnancy to continue - and get back to me.
They didn't ban abortions.
They didn’t, spice, but the prospect is that it will be banned in some states.
