Hot-Spots on Laptop.

Can anybody on answerbank advise me as how to get a hot-spot on a laptop,as my wife brought a new laptop a couple of weeks ago to take on holiday with us to Cornwall and we could not use it at al it was a waste of time taking it,or is there anything I could buy to boost the signal to the laptop.

Well first off, you need to be in a place WITH a hot spot, (Starbucks etc), and if there was such a thing to boost signals, we'd all have it and be nicking each others bandwidth.
Cornwall is not the sort of place to have hot spots all over the place - you need a city centre location for a good chance of that.
Book into a hotel next time and check if they have Internet (for free?)!!
PS. Should have said that you can get a Vodaphone 3G card for the PCMCIA but that would be expensive- best to search out an Internet cafe (if they exist in Cornwall).

To use these hotspots you normally have to buy time from a provider such as btopenzone.
