I wake up every morning nauseous with reflux. I've had reflux for decades and take Esomeprazole and Gaviscon. Especially in the mornings, I have no appetite, but I force myself to eat and when I do eat 9/10 my stomach is better with food in it.

I presume that the diagnosis of GERD has been confirmed. It has been well known for decades and more that the pain of peptic ulcer is relieved by eating......particularly the symptoms of peptic ulcer at awakening, eased by having breakfast. I have no scientific exolanation, except that food, certain foods, mop up the gastric acids.
