It’s Friday, so here we go again folks!

A decent enough start for me this week, I feel, with FIVE out of seven in the main quiz:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-61559704

. . . but I had to rely on the final question to save me from total ignominy in the junior quiz. Just ONE out of five for me :(

The timed quiz seemed a bit easier than usual to me this week, allowing me to achieve SEVEN out of ten:

That wine is indeed a very worthy medal winner, Tony, but wine awards are a bit of a joke anyway. Almost every wine that's entered for them ends up with some sort of a medal, so the system is really very little more than a marketing ploy.

Ruddy 'eck, DTC! You're certainly on fire this week! A near-perfect grown-up and a near-perfect kid, as well as our best sprinter so far!

I got the beer question wrong too although I'm wondering if it's really anything new? I've tasted plenty of beers that have certainly tasted as if they've been made from sewage ;-)

Well done with those football answers, Jourdain2. You'll be commentating on Match of the Day before you know it ;-)

You've managed the same aggregate score as me, so that can't be too bad really, can it?
;-)

Decent enough scores throughout this week, I see, Sharon!
6/7
2/5
8/10

Only a couple of guesses this week, I'd no idea I'd been paying any attention.

You're still too damned good at this, Lie-in King!

(Which, of course, is just my way of saying "Well done, indeed, yet again!")

pass on the infuriating timed quiz!! even its deemed easy!!

That's called cowardice, Piggy!

Very well done indeed though on being a perfect grown-up this week ;-)
4/7
1/5
5/10
A bit rubbish this week, should have got 7 on the timed one but panicked.
Shady has had his Dreamies supper and gone to bed,I think all the snoozing in the sun has tired him out :-)

Good evening, Haras2. Thanks for keeping me company on 1/5 in the kids' quiz. I was starting to feel a bit lonely for that one!

Yes, it's all to easy to panic on the timed one, isn't it? (I'd have scored 8m instead of 7, if I'd managed to click on a correct answer that I actually knew!). You've still managed some solid 'middling' scores in two out of the three quizzes though, so well done!

I think that Shady and I have something in common. I also seem to find that snoozing can tire me out these days ;-)

My lot are all outside at the moment but Chequers and Moonbeam have both recently paid me a visit to demand some fuss. (Tablo will probably turn up with a mouse soon, I suspect!).

Hoping that life in Wales is treating you well. All the best from me and the feline threesome.

4 4 7 for me
Question Author
A near-perfect kid then, Calmck, as well as an above average sprinter! Well done!
Life in Wales is getting into summer mode : silage tractors clogging up the lanes and annoying the grockles :-)
(bet you thought I hadn't noticed the typo !)
I thought i knew absolutely everything;

5/7, 3/5, 7/10

Obviously not :-)

>>> getting into summer mode : silage tractors clogging up the lanes and annoying the grockles

Here in Suffolk, with its beautiful coastline, we're looking forward to the usual conflicts between combine harvesters and SUVs towing caravans very soon ;-)

Knowing everything would never be a good thing, Ken. If you really knew everything, you'd always know exactly what others were thinking about you, which not always make you happy ;-)

Decent scores anyway! Well done!
Saw that one as well :-))
4/7, 2/5, 5/10.
Question Author
Good, solid 'middling' score this week, I see, Caran.

Well done!
Thanks Chris.

6/7
3/5
5/10 the brain is still too fuddled to think quickly!
Question Author
Well done on some very impressive scores, Twix, and especially on being a near-perfect grown-up this week ;-)

My brain is usually far too befuddled to think at any speed ;-)
Average in both, 4 & 3 respectively!
Question Author
Yup, JJ109. As I've probably said several times before, your scores are like my figure: Big around the middle ;-)
