Did anyone on here give the reason that they were washing their hair for not being able to go somewhere? Or was that just used as an excuse not to go out?

Years ago it probably was an excuse as it used to take so long, what with all the rollering and drying.
I remember going to the hairdressers with my Nan when I was little and it felt like an age waiting for her to finish under the big hood hairdryer.
.
In my mid teens, back in the early 60's it was a valid excuse for not doing anything on a particular night. It was accepted that once you had washed your thick long hair (hairdryers not being much of an option) it really did take hours to get it dry again. Most of my friends would sit in front of the fire in an attempt to get it dry, and if we put curlers in, we invariably went to bed in them in damp hair.
No, but right this moment I am fuming because I really, really needed to wash my hair on Mon. 30th (I do it in the morning shower) and OH has booked an optician's appt. for 9.30 10 miles away. This appt. requires drops, so he has to be chauffeured back (me) also the dog has to be walked.
So I'm going to have to have an evening shower- because I have a long drive over unknown roads to get to a funeral on Tuesday and need to set off at 7 - and my daughter is bringing the kids over. Just why don't men think of these things? fume, mutter.....
HAIR?
old one: facetious excuse
they dont want to go out

if it were a real excuse ( I have a no 1 crew cut) I wd take time out to say that I was aware that it had a hoary old reputation but...etc
