There's a lot in the news recently about the problem of pitch invasions.

They could stop it by informing all the fans that anyone identified as going onto the pitch would receive a ban from all stadiums. With CCTV this should be possible.

Is this too brutal?

//No booze to be allowed into matches & breathalyse the spectators on entry.//

Excellent idea, dave. All that's needed is a way to breathalyse fifty or sixty thousand people in the half hour or so before kick of!
open the gates at 6 am. ?
^^ 6am? they will still be sleeping off the night before booze.
1ozzy has it right. Each ground should have a scaffold at one end. The sight of the last malefactor dangling from it should curb the enthusiasm of the crowd.

If there's no room for a proper scaffold, just putting their heads on pikes should do the trick.
Oh come on now jno that a bit OTT.

Surely just a public flogging at half time would suffice?

Rumour going round that such public floggings are to be introduced next season, YMF, with Newcastle United's majority shareholders volunteering to test the system out and to send 'experienced technicians' over to administer the floggings. Just a rumour:-J
