I work with a guy who is a transvestite.
We get on well, he presents himself as a male at work.
(which he is)
But on 'occasions' he presents as a female.
The last works AGM (And the one before) he presented as a female.
The previous one was a bit of a shock. The recent one, no one battered an eyelid,
(we'd all got used to it by then I guess)

I don't give a fig about anyone's orientation, if a guy wants to look like a woman or a woman wants to look like a man, I couldnt give two hoots.
(Or if your gay/lesbian, transgenger etc...)
What I DO find contentious, Is the reactions of others.
Example...how would you feel about my work colleague using the works toilet as a man, when dressed as a man, and using the female toilets when dressed as a woman?

Nailit; despite your sometime image here, I find you one of the best, most sensitive posters. Keep up the good work.
Nailt; don't get me wrong, I often find you infuriating; but you do hit the nail on the head so often.
Doesn’t bother me at all!
When abroad I have shared toilets with all sexes.

Sqad,
I cant help but have some admiration for you!!
You remind me so much in some ways of my old dad...
BUT,
He was a bigot too.
Hated gays etc, BUT he was my dad, and I loved him.
(And he was wrong too)

The world moves on, and so does science. And psychology etc.
We no longer stone gays to death. We accept that is their psychology! Its NOT a mental illness
We no longer put to death a whole host of people because we now recognize/accept that is who they are.

Transvestites to me are a bit odd.
But we all have our own 'oddities' which we wouldn't want penalised with either the death sentance or institutionalization.

I have also shared offices with transvestites, from 30 years ago and more.

They always used the male toilets, because they are men.

I don't understand why a man would want to use a woman's toilet just because he was wearing a dress. I can understand why he'd want to use a cubicle in the men's toilet, even if he didn't need a #2 ...

Its the ones that do, that disturb me.
Never found out about my work collegue.
Which ones did he use (if ever)
Always long gone before then....
(Only turned up because I had to, to show my face)
I’m with Sqad. You can keep your trannys and your transvestism and all the other weird expressions of suppression.

something similar happened to me and a workmate in a factory in the mid 80s. In my factory maintenance days. Anyway a transvestite had to use a ladder to check something, the man who had to foot the ladder, said when he looked up to ask if he/she needed anything he had an awful shock, he claimed he could see his/her meat and two veg sticking out of her knickers!! Of course he couldnt say anything at the time, as this person was an engineer and he didnt want to offend the person.Plus it was 1st time we´d seen a man dressed as a woman.
//When abroad I have shared toilets with all sexes.//

You mean both sexes, redhelen. There are only two. "All" is a bit OTT when there are only two alternatives.

Toilet use is straightforward. If you are biologically male you use the gents', if you're biologically female you use the ladies'. Simples. Putting a dress on does not make a man a woman. Perhaps the problem stems because they put symbols on the doors instead of words. The symbol for the ladies usually depicts a figure in a skirt or dress. Mind you, that doesn't mean women wearing trousers should use the gents. You have to concentrate if you do things that make life difficult for yourself.

What would you like to happen with the Gay community?
Or the Transvestite community?

If I choose to say all , I will and will continue to say all sexes!
To be honest, I have no idea how I'd feel. I've never had to share toilets with anyone than women...well as far as I know!
I'm not a confrontational person, and I consider myself considerate and understanding of others lives. But...if the reality hit me in the face...??? I'd not be hurtful...would I gasp...just leave...be totally accepting?
I am a tolerant person but I'd be a bit unnerved if I knew a man was sharing ladies toilets I was in.

Of course. So long as you know it sounds a little silly.
NJ; If you have a hose, you stand and aim it at the toilet bowl, using your hand if necesary. If you have a hole, you sit down and hope for the best. Anything beyond that is just making up stuff to make life complicated.
Naillit thanks for the compliment, the world does move on and so it should........but without me.

I have my feelings and thoughts about gays, transvestites, bodily dysmorphism, wokeism (no idea what that but I am just showing off) and widespread obscenities, but there is nothing i can do about it. Abolition of slavery, rasicm , equality of women.....I couldn't care a toss.

But luckily us dinasaurs are quickly dying out and do you remember what happened then, they were replaced by Homo sapiens.......? lol
About the only good thing you can say about Russia at the moment is that everyone knows which toilet to use.

I think this is a totally fabricated post by nailit having got nowhere with similar contentious posts on religion is now trying to find something similar on gender issues.
Don't fall for it.
Discretionary gays fine. Flamboyant gays ott. Same with transvestism.
When I was at work (which was a large building open to the public) we had men's toilets, women's toilets and an accessible/gender neutral toilet. It had the symbol on it like this; it would be easier if all loos were the same.
