I used this MANY years ago to repair a pair of Clark's shoes where the sole was splitting. It worked very well. Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation

Shoe Goo is very very good.
"Shoe Goo" bit expensive but works well.....used it twice now
A good way of cleaning trainers is to tie them in an old pillow slip and wash them in the washing machine.

I instructed Mrs Hymie to do this with an old pair of my trainers – but forgot to specify a cold/cool wash. At 90C the soles completely separated from the uppers – I successfully reattached them using Gorilla Glue, which had the strength and flexibility to keep them together.
Impact Adhesive.
