With the cost of living soaring, under this inadequate Tory Govt.
The Tory minister for... Safeguarding !!! says people who cannot afford to pay their bills ,should simply work more hours or find a better paid job.
.... Wonder where these Mps get their advice from?.. Boris Maybe.

I've had to do it - take on a second job to pay for essentials. My dad worked in the same job all his life, except when he served in the RAF during the war, but he had to take on part time jobs to make ends meet despite my mother also working full time. They weren't extravagant - no car, no foreign holidays.

This is nothing new and it is not an entirely outrageous suggestion.
No one likes their cost of living and energy bills going up as it is doing but what difference does it make to you when you claim not to live in this country. Inflation is high in many countries not just in the UK and energy bills are also going up. How are yours doing where you live or are you just going to have your daily rant at the Tories again and not answer a question although it's you who started the thread.
There are currently approximately 15 hours of daylight in the UK. By making use of this free energy by getting up earlier & going to bed earlier most of us should be able to cut down considerably on expenditure on electric light.
My father was in the airforce and spent most of his career working a 2nd job either taxi driver, working in a chippie - fixing cars etc so that my mother would not have to work.
Holidays tended to be with relatives in Devon and Scotland but once every couple of years we would take a family holiday at a butlins camp.
We did not go short had computers etc before it was fashionable but I did not see my father a lot.
Heaven forbid people should work to provide for their needs and support themselves. Terrible idea! Bloody government! How very dare they!
Timing is the problem here together with a poorly delivered message.

Whilst I think the underlying sentiment is correct there are many already doing this and it really isnt going to help her saying this.
most MPs seem to have several jobs. No wonder, it's hard to get by on £84,000.
Also this woman's expenses for 20/21 amount to £212,882

Not a good look.

To be fair 84K is not a huge amount of money.
it's more than double the average wage. Fortunately they all know how to cook a meal for 30p.
I don't live under the Tory government & I just paid over 4 thousand euros for heating oil, twice the price it was last year.
One would counter they dont do an average job jno. I get far more than that for instance and I am sure others on here do.
It simply a very naive politician saying something to lose public sympathy and potential votes. Can't force folk to think before they open their mouth. But I guess we all make mistakes.

Tory MP Lee Andeson has no trouble with his cost of living expenses he just cooks a meal at the cost of 30p. Then Claims "£220,000 in Expenses "Simple".

This Post .... "Minister for safeguarding", held by
Rachel Mclean.
Is it the Tory safe with the tax payers Money in for the Boris Crony club that she is guarding.
Things aint good at the moment Gully...wait until we're back up to 15% interest rates...what are you doing to ease your burden?
Dont expect gulliver to answer you Ryzen. He doesn't do things like that. In his world it is only the Uk that has these problems and according to him he lives in the EU. They haven't got any inflation or high energy prices or if they have he is not saying.
Gulliver may be doing the nation a favour come the autumn, their posts generating more heat than light in replies.
