Any idea what the daily rate might be for a jobbing builder to do some basic repair work , ie, pointing, a little brick-laying etc. ? Outer London borough (South)

Cheers. D

Depending on travel and assuming minimal materials I'd say £150 to 200 a day ( a day being 9.30 to 4 .00 in my experiance)

Assume local builder, so little travel, and labour only; materials extra.
Min 130 more likely 160 plus

surely there must be some Boy Scouts ready to do it for a bob a job :-)
Good luck Derek. Your problem may be finding someone who wants to do it and can fit you in before autumn and is reliable to turn up on any date that's agreed.

Thanks again. Better get looking.
Surely someone you know, knows someone who knows someone who will do a good job, cash in hand. Probably a oner a day down there.
