slow releasing carbs, say after a two to three week diet of being off them....like oats, basmati rice, cous-cous, sweet potatoes and quinoa.

Ooh no, I'm alright for them, thanks.. :-)
slow-releasing carbs is the trick - but look up protein diets is a good starter, meats, dairy and plenty of greens and salad - and given that we are coming into summer now, it's much easier....then to re-introduce carb on a limited basis.
and don't lose more than a kg per week as you risk exposing yourself to gall-bladder issues, two-thirds of whom qualify through the five 'F's - as in, female, over forty, fat, freckled and fair-skinned.

My DIL is trying to lose a bit of weight. She loves bread but always feels bloated after eating it. She was advised to buy gluten free and this seems to agree with her.
and unfortunately the wine too, if you have to, sauv blancs, viognier and riojas are the preferred ones!
Question Author
I will consider that, Maggie. Thanks.
