What's to celebrate?
Nor in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan etc.
I wonder when there really will be a "Labour day" - Last general election win 1974. Only 3 Labour PMs have won an election in 123 years. Quite a record.

What planet were you living on in 1997 then TTT. When a UK political party came into power with a majority of 179......Clue it was not The Con Party, lol
that was the Thatcherite, Tony Blair. Not real Labour.
I see Tora is fishing again.
Today I am celebrating being alive and well, and hopefully
tomorrow I shall live another day and will celebrate again.

Good luck
He lives in his own wee fantasy world where everything British is beyond criticism and Tony Blair was not the leader of the Labour Party...

Nicknames for UK Pms. Thatcher ..Attila the hen .
AKA TBW..That bloody woman. ....Theresa May..
Theresa Maybe,,,John Major...The Grey Man..
David Cameron ,,, Dodgy Dave...Tony Blair .. Bambi.
Boris Johnson,,,
The Clown, The Liar ,Aka Bonking Boris.
Blair used the labour Party to get in. There is no way that he was a left wing labourite. Left of centre would be the best you could get but many policies were right of centre, that why they were never tampered with by the Tories and why Blair didnt tamper with Thatcher's policies particularly around Union control.

If its any comfort to you I personally dont think we have a Tory Party in power. Johnson and his green liberal wife have taken control of the party to implement their non Tory policies. Thats why the country is in the mess it is in and people are having to choose heat or eat.
Politically it does not mean much, but i like it because it is a bank holiday.
No holiday here. We don't get a Monday off if the holiday falls on a weekend. We do get religious holidays and "town" days though, unless they are on a weekend
