That's an interesting case. Had he posted those comments anonymously online many people would say the police have got better things to do and people in the public eye should expect negative comments, abuse and threats.

I wonder how the police tracked him down
more of a keyboard warrior than a savage, but the sound of him: 84 and dotty. Still, no sympathy for him: he wasn't so dotty he forgot to flee the country.

'Pen and paper warrior' doesn't have the same ring as 'keyboard warrior'. Maybe they lifted his fingerprints from the paper, or his saliva from the envelope.

The clue is in the fifth word of your OP.

People like this don't 'think', in the sense of rationalising what they are doing, why they are doing it, and the consequences of doing it.

If they did, they would stop before carrying through actions like this, which only ever end in tears.
Vile man.
His targets were all Labour MPs. He was probably a far right looney. There are a lot of em about.
