I am buying a gift off Amazon for someone in my home and obviously don’t want them seeing it. Grandparents are a bit forgetful and would end up forgetting it’s a secret gift so I don’t want it to be sent there. Is there anywhere I can have a package sent to that I can then pick up myself? Thanks

Amazon will deliver your package to most Post Offices and lots of other places - check out Pickup Locations.
also Amazon Lockers...look for nearest one when you order.
re bhg above...I've seen people collecting Amazon stuff from my local Waitrose "welcome desk".
I should add that there are certain things which cannot be sent to a PO; things with lithium batteries in them, for example. I don't know if that also applies to Amazon Lockers
ginge - Yes, we collected from Next once; lots of options.

Thanks guys! Does delivery to the post office work for things on all kinds of websites to buy from? So when making the purchase do I just type in the post office’s address and then the post office takes it in behind the desk?
No, the seller will have a list of places you can collect from.

Oh right ok. So say I come across an item online that I want to purchase. When I come to the checkout it will ask for a delivery address. If I want it to be sent to the post office or other pickup point, what do I do then?
You could get it sent to your place of work if you wanted to. I did once many moons ago.
I only know about Amazon. At checkout it will ask you to choose a delivery address; you can select an address you've used before or choose a Pickup Location. You can't just put in an address as it's a paid-for service (free to you).

Bhg- so when I select a pickup location, will it give me options I can click on such as the post office?
That's it.
Look for "Search for a Pick-up Point location near you"

That will give options including post offices and shops that Amazon can deliver to.

Not everything can be picked up because of the size or because the type of item is excluded.

Corby loon - so for small plastic type items would that be ok? No weight to them whatsoever
Should be okay.
Only certain retailers offer 'Local Collect'. If the service isn't mentioned on their websites, you can't use it.

Amazon offer 'Local Collect' or 'Amazon Hub Counter' services at many Post Office branches. They also have 'Amazon Hub Lockers' at many locations (including railway stations, filling stations and supermarkets), where your parcel is left in a secure locker and you're provided with a code to open it.

Some other vendors might use the services of couriers such as Evri (formerly Hermes) or Collect+, which offer the option to have parcels delivered to local stores. (Around here, most Co-op stores will accept parcels, both incoming and outgoing, for Evri).

However you'll need to check each retailer's website to see which delivery options they offer. There's no universal solution to your problem (unless, of course, you've got someone like a friendly neighbour who could help you out).

Thank you very much guys I appreciate your help!
I have numerous addresses in both my Amazon and Ebay accounts.

My neighbour also has my address for same reason as you - buying gifts!
My local Morrisons has Amazon lockers, I've used them a few times as I like the convenience of being able to pick up when I'm shopping.

You get a code by email or text, which you tap into the keypad at the front of the lockers, and the locker door with your goods inside pops open.
