Thanks, NACW, I did get four of them, but just could not see the parsing. And I was certain that 4(D) was an anagram, but it did not show on my anagram solver.
Matakari, if you think you have the answer, you should show us that - all the blank spaces suggest that you are not getting on very well.

I think most of this puzzle, including the thematic bits, was covered yesterday, so I thought it'd be a better week for you - no need for umpteen batches!
I thought this was Pabulum was at his best. Very fair clueing and an interesting concept for the unclued. Most enjoyable.
I agree, Novalis - enjoyable and satisfying.
How does REFERRAL work please.... I cansee the FE for iron but thats it
is it not deferral??
Yes, deferral
Sorry, I meant to change the 6 A -my typing went awry! (Larder and FE, iron - maybe I should have given the parsing....)
NACW, I wish I had £1 for every time my typing has gone astray.
Wish I had a pound for every wrong answer
I wish NAC wasn't so harsh! :-)
Tilly2, I wish that too at times -but the harsh realities kick in every so often!
I have all the clued answers, the 4-letter word, and some of the unclued, but the penny hasn’t dropped as to the connection! Could I ask for help?
The entries in Chambers that begin with the 4 letter word (not the four letter word itself) provide synonyms for all of the unclued entries.
Thank you, but still stuck on 1D unclued S?L?S?U?R?
Any tips?
