Then:
Before parliament, Boris stated that there were rumours of a criminal gang operating out of Nos. 10 & 11 Downing St. – he said that he had been advised that there was no such gang or criminal activity, but nevertheless had set up an inquiry to find the facts.

Now:
The inquiry has found that not only was there a criminal gang operating out of Nos. 10 & 11 Downing St., but it turns out that I (Boris Johnson) am a member of that criminal gang – for which I sincerely apologise

Our Prime Minister engaged in criminal activity is not a laughing matter.
hymie
it is not as tho he has shot stabbed or gassed anyone

I think he will get out of this - - over the Putin bridge ! to freedom!
Johnson has lied to us and parliament consistently throughout this affair.
First he said he had not attended any parties - untrue.
Then, if he had, lockdown rules were applied - untrue.
He said he knew the rules, and obeyed them - untrue.
He then said hadn’t realised he was at a party - untrue.

He has been fined for breaking lockdown rules for a birthday party in doors at number 10. He faces another fine therefore for attending the bring your own booze garden party at which there were 19 (not 6) guests.
Of course Johnson should resign if he doesn’t and carries on then the chances of Labour getting elected in 2024/5 become far greater.
sorry for splitting hairs, but being fined for Partygate is not a crime - it doesn't go on his state-police record.

being a plonker and lying about it to the House is not a crime either but it's stoooopid and maybe he ought to sink himself. If he doesn't, there's a chance that his beloved Chancellor will and that will put him in a very awkward situation.

Hymie, Just what criminal offence was committed?
Hymie, you have missed a genuine opportunity to have a go at Johnson. Instead you let your commie rhetoric to take over and in the process started to spout falsehoods.

When will you lot ever learn?

Like you Danny I don't know why the Met got involved and made it a criminal matter, such a long time after the events. It was being dealt with by Sue Gray. Her report (presumably) will say Johnson and his colleagues were at multiple lockdown breaching events but that (unbelievably) Johnson didn't think ***-ups in the No.10 garden were a parties.
it's not a criminal matter, it is a public infringement.
