I don't know if this has been discussed on here but I just wanted to say that
$3m, for a wedding, in these current climes, is sickeningly appalling.

David and Victoria's coronation wedding cost £3/4 million back in 1999 so they are used to splashing out.

What I find rather offensive is how they rough-shod over folk. The Tresanton down here phoned up a future bride and asked her what it would take to move her wedding back by a few months, two dates offered or the same week a year ahead - "We have a cheque here for you, if you will consider." The cheque a mere £30k - signed one D. Beckham because they wanted to take the whole hotel over.....Frankly though, I blame the hotel - they should have refused him and V..however, they have cleared it before - the place was a bonking centre for the Duck of Cornwall and the Duckess to be.

I agree that it's their money but cut back on the publicity - though gift money to the Ukraine cause is at least a positive gesture. But then if the Daily Wail gets wind of a story, they get their hooks into it. They're just as bad.

thats not riding roughshod - it's not like they made the hotel bump the other party out! It's just asking them if they want 30k more than they want their wedding on a particular date

Personally, I hate big fancy weddings and this one was just a big show. No envy at all. Each to his own though. We got married quietly in a registry office and would have done the same if we were super wealthy. Weddings these days seem to be shows. Not a lot to do with just wanting to be married.

I would genuinely hate the type of lifestyle these people have.

not many of us get 30k in one lump in their lifetime
