Labour's Cooper criticises the Chancellor, his wife and the government because the chancellor's wife only pays tax on money she is deemed to have earned in the UK, just like the rest of us. So, in the interest of fairness, it might be good to know how much UK tax her husband, Ed Balls, paid during his tenure at Harvard Business School. Surely he wouldn't have deprived the NHS of much-needed revenue.

You’re wrong Gromit. It’s not mea culpa at all at all, far from it.
She’s been forced into this ridiculous position because there’s bitter people who don’t like rich people only paying the amount of tax they’re required to pay. Bizarrely, bitter people seem to think rich people should pay more than they’re required to pay.
Her unnecessarily paying will salve the bitter, but will also allow them, as you have, to suggest there was something iffy.
