Have just upgraded to Sky Q and notice that when the TV is off and the room is quiet, there is a constant "ticking" coming from the box. Probably something rotating.
Is this normal for these boxes?

"Your Sky Q box has a hard disk that makes a noise similar to that of a PC. It also has a temperature-controlled fan that may come on occasionally. If you're noticing an excessive amount of noise, make sure your Sky Q box is not placed: On a carpet or in an enclosed space, such as a closed cabinet."

Thanks for that info.
It is difficult to assess what an "excessive amount of noise" is. My box certainly makes more noise than my PC. I will try a restart and see if that improves the situation.
It could just be another box ticking exercise.
I think douglas9401 has the answer.
ours has never done that and our living room is very quiet so we would notice
Perhaps you should phone the bomb squad just to be on the safe side? :-)
Does your box feel hot?
'Makes Frankie Howerd noises and shuffles off'
That's a bit personal Barry.
I noticed something similar coming from mine and I did the classic computer thing, switched it off then back on, seemed to stop it
