My father at 78 a lot of the time scratches all over leaving scab marks on his head, back, arms, and legs. I seem to think he scratches without really thinking about it. I considered getting him gloves that would greatly reduce the scratching but everyone I've found online seem to not allow to grab anything(which he would not like). Amazon.com User Recommendation

What about plain white gloves. Lots on Amazon. Are you sure there is not an underlying reason why he is scratching
Have you considered anti-histamine tablets? They work for me.
Might he have psoriasis?
I would get him checked out with his GP. Could be an underline problem.
It could be an age problem ie. dry skin,as Patsy advises get him to see a doctor.
I would definitely check for underlying first- allergies (washing powder, shower gel, lactose... etc), could be a skin condition, or a liver problem. All of which could have treatment.
Even if it is just habit/ boredom, that is still something worth knowing and changing, before trying gloves.
I would certainly change washing powder and shower gel first and choose a natural non chemical version of each. Wash clothes and bedding. Then try an antihistamine and a GP appointment. Gloves will not solve the itching just the scratches.
Are you sure the 'scab marks' aren't a rash?
