Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

I'm a novice at this one. I highlight the unclued lights to help with what I might be looking for.

Did you get any further with this? Of the 10 unclued, 18d is the author's surname. 21d is a synonym of the first part of 27a, which is a name of a character in one of his novels. 36 is a synonym of the second word of the title of the book (_ _ _ _ Fire)

3 is a rare word for a kind of plug (in a tobacco pipe).
14 'front of' indicates first letter of the next word + a kind of music playing device = a kind of stand.
24 'n' for name inside a word meaning an advance.
33 a word for popular + a word for 'to long for' = a term for a kind of music or record label.
40 Abbreviation for Area + a word meaning 'points of intersection' without the letter 'o' = an example of a kind of 'range'.
