He appears to be playing fast and loose with the legal system, so it's hard to feel any sympathy for situations of his own making.
Don't see anywhere where he's asking for sympathy.

Is he telling porkies? regarding his trophies? it seems a little bit convenient to say he doesn´t know where they are?
As Andy indicates, he is 'playing the game'. The onus is on them to prove he 'does' know where the trophies are and that he can hand them back.
No. He seems to be in the situation he's in because of choices he's made rather than having misfortune thrust upon him.

Has he thought to look for them in THAT cupboard?
I was a huge fan of Becker when I was a teenager, and he won Wimbledon. I absolutely loved him.

He’s made some really bad decisions. Silly man. I have some sympathy, but not a lot.
I do feel a bit sorry for talented sportsmen who are clueless in every other sphere.
If I tried really hard I might be able to but No, not really. I think it's sad that he's in this position but who is to blame if not him?
